Ravioli Day!!!

A few times of year, my mom, sister, aunt, nanna, and I gather at mom's house to make homemade raviolis.  It's a very labor intensive process but they are well worth the time and effort they require.  This day is less about the actual food and more about spending time together...ok, not really.  It's all about the food and this time, Andrew got his first taste!!

What a Lucky Kid...

What a lucky kid to have so many people around him that love him!!

Cheeeeeeeeeeeeese!!!!!

Drew is getting such a little personality!  I love it!!  He's making all these different facial expressions and the best is when you tell him to smile.  His eyes get all smooshy and he gets this big grin on his face!  Here's what we get:

He's getting to be so much fun.  I really love to see how he changes almost daily now.  Love that little dude!!

Crawling!!

On a very sad November 14th, the day Grandpa Shaw passed away, we did have a glimmer of positivity.  Little man decided to crawl for the first time!!  Well, it was 1/3 army crawl, 1/3 real crawl and 1/3 face plant but we are still proud as ever of our little guy!

Here's a pic of Drew getting ready to go:

And some video!

RIP Grandpa Shaw

On November 14th, we lost one of the greatest men I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.  Steve's Grandpa Shaw was like a grandfather to me and we were devastated when we found out he died suddenly of a heart attack.  Words can't even express how much we will miss him and how sad we are that Drew will never truly know him but at the same time we are so honored to have had him in our lives for so long.

On our wedding day with Grandma and Grandpa Shaw:

Perhaps my all time favorite picture of Gramps.  Here he is with my girls on our wedding day.  Look at those eyes.

Grandma looks so in love...even after 63 years of marriage.  They have always been such an inspiration to us!

Drew meeting Grandpa Shaw for the first time.  Pictures we will treasure for many years to come.

On the day of Drew's baptism:

We will always miss you Grandpa Shaw.  May you rest in peace with the Lord and know how much we love you.

Happy Wedding Day Auntie Theresa and Uncle Nick!!!

Auntie Theresa and Uncle Nick got married on October 16, 2010.  I got to walk Drew down the aisle so he was part of the day.  We got some pictures with him and then he went home where Aunt Diana was waiting for him.  It was an awesome day!!

At 8 Months...

Drew's Stats:
Weight:  21 lbs, 12 oz. (90th percentile)
Height:  29 inches (90th percentile)
Head:  48cm (95th percentile)

What Drew is doing at 8 months:

  • He has 4 teeth.  2 on the bottom and 2 on the top that have just broken through.
  • He's had two colds in two months but bounced back pretty quickly from both.
  • He is scooting and rolling like a mad man but has not started to crawl yet.
  • He's "talking" and babbling up a storm.  His favorite word is "dada" but I get a "momma" every great once in a while.
  • He's sleeping pretty consistently through the night (oh I hope I dont jnx myself!!)
  • He gives kisses now.  When you tell him to give you a kiss, he opens his mouth really wide and tries to gnaw your face off.  It's adorable.
  • He loves to scream at the top of his lungs.
  • He's got quite the appetite.  He's eating at least 8 tablespoons of cereal a day.  Also he's on fruits and veggies and will be starting meats and yogurts very soon.
  • He's had mashed potatoes, noodles and squash and acts like it's the worst food in the entire world.  He starts gagging and making the "yucky" face.  He'd much rather just play with it instead of eat it.  So far, he loves his green beans and pretty much and fruit mixed with his cereal.  He's not too keen on carrots or peas.
  • He gets this very cheesy grin on his face sometimes that cracks me up.  Such a ham!
  • He knows Nannu Abela, Sonny, Nannu's birds, his name, mom and dad.
  • His most favorite toys are the remote control and cell phone.  Already into technology!!
  • He can stand unsopported but not for very long.
  • He loves patty cake and peekaboo.
  • He still loves bath time and by the end, there is more water on the floor and on daddy then there is left in the tub!

Halloween!

Steve and I were really excited to take Drew out for his first trick or treating!  We got him dressed up and ready to go and all of a sudden, I see him start to doze in his stroller.  We woke him up...which lasted for about a minute and then he was out cold.

So pretty much, we had a great time but Drew slept through the whole thing!  When we brought him inside, he woke up and looked at us and was like, "what, what, what'd I miss?"

...and he's out!

...and, he's still out.  But off we went!

"What'd I miss, guys???"

This Picture Deserves it's Own Post!

Cause it's just so cute!!  Steve caught Drew's eye and got the biggest grin out of him!  One of my favorites, for sure!

Pumpkins, Costumes and...Drew!

We had plans to take Drew to a pumpkin patch so we could pick out his pumpkin for Halloween and get some pictures of him.  Unfortunately, the kiddo had a nasty cold and the weather was downright awful so we decided to bring the pumpkins to him.

We dressed him up in his Halloween costume...Nascar Driver Dale Jr...and took him outside for some pictures with his pumpkins!

One of my all time favorites with Steve and Drew:

My little Nascar dude:

Pumpkins!

Trying really hard to figure it out!

Cutie pie:

Love those curls!

 Dad, are we done yet???

Nanna, What Are You Feeding Drew Now???

Nanna Abela can't wait to give Drew all kinds of new foods.  Some she gives with mom's blessings and some she doesn't.  I guess that's the right you get when you are the nanna.  :)

Daddy and Drew Ready for the Hunt!

Steve is so looking forward to doing all kinds of things with Drew and one of them is to take the little dude hunting.  Here they are all decked out in their gear ready to go!

Bounce, Bounce, Bounce!

Drew's exercauser is definitely one of the best gifts we received for our shower.  He plays in it all the time. He also loves to torture the dog with it.  Yep, he is starting early.

Nakey Nakey Time!!

I am pretty sure this picture speak for itself.  The kid os so dang cute!

Labor Day Fun!

On Labor Day, tradition states that we head to Steve's mom and dad's house for the annual labor day gathering.  This year, the Lord blessed us with beautiful weather, yummy food and great times!  Aunt Penny and Uncle Richard prepared quite a few activities for us to do and we had a blast!

Family picture!  One of my favorites!

Daddy teaching Drew the basics of bean bag throw!

Daddy and Son.  One of my favorites!
